President William Ruto has officially unveiled the newly completed KSh3.8 billion Ngong Road flyover, a major infrastructure project expected to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity in one of Nairobi's busiest transport corridors.
The 820-meter, four-lane flyover links Ngong Road, Naivasha Road, and Kingara Road near Junction Mall, providing motorists with a faster and more efficient route through the heavily congested area.
The project was constructed by Spanish engineering firm Centunion and financed through a loan from the Spanish government.

He noted that upgrading major road networks is essential to ensuring the country is ready to welcome teams, officials, and supporters from across the continent.
Beyond easing congestion, the new flyover incorporates several features aimed at improving safety and accessibility for all road users.
The project includes pedestrian walkways, upgraded drainage systems designed to reduce flooding during heavy rains, and modern street lighting to enhance visibility and security, particularly at night.

He further noted that the government is implementing several additional road construction and rehabilitation projects across Nairobi and other parts of the country to support economic growth, facilitate trade, and improve access to essential services.
